Presenters - Kevin Ceglowski and Kelsey Mayo, Partners at Poyner Spruill

Kevin Ceglowski represents employers in many areas of labor and employment law, including race, age, gender, religion, national origin, and disability employment discrimination claims, wrongful discharge claims, and wage and hour claims. He defends clients before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor, and the North Carolina Employment Security Commission, in state and federal courts, and in arbitrations. Kevin also provides guidance to management to ensure employment practices are in full compliance with all applicable statutes and regulations. He is a partner in Poyner Spruill’s employment law practice. 


Kelsey Mayo has extensive experience working with governmental, non-profit, and for-profit employers on all aspects of qualified and non-qualified employee benefit plans, welfare benefit plans, fringe benefit plans, and executive compensation. Kelsey also advises clients regarding strategic planning, pension liability management, and fiduciary duties and responsibilities. She represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor in matters involving employee benefits and guides clients through the use of the agencies’ compliance programs. Kelsey is a partner at Poyner Spruill and is legal advisor to the firm’s own benefits committee. 


REFER A FRIEND!  2016 Membership Referral Drive Kickoff

As a part of our strategic initiative to bolster the membership of our chapter, we are kicking off a membership drive and extend a challenge to all TSHRM members to use the "Refer a Friend” feature on the TSHRM homepage. 

Here is the challenge:

•      Refer a friend to join between July 1 and September 31

•      Your referral names you under the application question "TSHRM referral name”

•      TSHRM members who refer a friend will be entered into a raffle.  Drawings will be held to select winners at the December Holiday Social.

Here are the membership levels at a glance: 

•      Professional - $65; if SHRM member naming TSHRM as primary; eligible for a 5% discount

•      Affiliate - $250

•      Associate $65

•      Entry Level - $40

•      Student - $40

•      Retired - $40

Last year we exceeded our goal and are looking forward to doing the same this year.  Our goal for 2016 is to increase our membership by 25%.
