HR on Call

In 2009 TSHRM and RWHRMA won one of six national SHRM Pinnacle Awards (for professional chapters) for our HR on Call program with WRAL-TV. WRAL would like for both chapters to conduct another HR on Call to continue outreach to the Central NC community. TSHRM needs your support in volunteering your time for this event.

We will be assisting the general public with HR-related questions including layoffs, being in transition or job seeking. The general public will call in and ask their questions. Our job is to answer the question as quickly and concisely as possible while building their trust and a rapport. We want all callers to say this was a great experience. It is a wonderful opportunity for our organizations to help the community and publicize what we do.

HR on Call will be held at the WRAL television station located at 2619 Western Boulevard in Raleigh. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 12:00-7:00 PM. Three shifts will be comprised of 20 phone volunteers, one runner, one greeter and one host as well as several subject matter experts and floaters.

A training session will be held prior to the event for all volunteers. Shortly after you register you will receive more information relating to training and additional specifics.
